COOKIES!

For those of you that may not know this, I love cookies. I don't just like them sometimes or on holidays, I could literally eat a cookie every single day (especially my mama's homemade snickerdoodles!) but, I digress. Cookies are obviously not a super healthy food and by no means should be eaten on a daily basis. Therefore, I regulate my intake of this purely magical goodness to a sometimes snack. Every once in a while you come across one that makes you say "O-M-G I can't live without another one!" ie mom's snickerdoodles. I'm sure you have all had this experience, even those of who are not as obsessed with cookies as I. Maybe it was a piece of cake, or candy or some other form of delicious treat. You get the picture. Anyway, the point is there are amazing forms of awesome desserts out there and cookies are my fav!

Now, on to the point of this random dessert post. I love finding cookies that taste amazing, for obvious reasons naturally. But, I really love finding pretty cookies! This one is a bit more challenging. There are a lot of good bakeries that make nice looking cookies but to find a place that makes something you are truly proud to have at a birthday party, bridal shower, luncheon, wedding, basically any event imaginable is a tough find. Thanks to Facebook I think I just might have found the future home for all my cookie needs! The other day a friend of mine posted about her friend on Facebook (are you still with me?) so I followed the link to her site and fell in love with all the beautiful cookies she has created! This girl has some talent! You can visit her blog here: Whip It Good Cookies and seriously just take a look at those fabulous cookies she has on there. Oh, and did I mention she is currently in a contest sponsored by Martha Stewart?! That's right The Martha Stewart!

Candy and I are already discussing which football themed cookies we can have for which game next month, haha! Of course my favorite on her site would definitely be the love birds, they are too darling. If you have a chance to check out Erin's blog, you should also try to take a minute and use the link to Martha's page to vote for Erin in the contest. Her stuff is definitely fabulous and deserving of a win! :)

Hope you're all having a great week... It's Hump Day!

Recent Happenings

I have been a busy busy bee lately! This will probably be the case until after Fair on the Square, but that's fine with me, I'm excited :)

Here are a few snapshots of what's been going on the past few days. Most of the time I get bogged down with stuff and forget to even take pictures, for those that follow on Instagram, sorry!

It has been raining A LOT. Which is awesome, makes crafting weekends that much more enjoyable.

I've been working on some tags for an upcoming project, here they are at stage one.

And here they are at stage two. I have one more thing to add, so they're not quite finished yet.

I've also been working on some Halloween projects for Fair on the Square. I'm really excited to show off the new Fall/Holiday items in THREE WEEKS!

My Monday morning didn't start off too great, I had a little fender bender on the way to work. Everyone is fine, however Dottie has some major scrathes and possible other damage, so I'm going to get her appraised this afternoon. Hopefully it isn't too bad, but that's what insurance is for I guess! Here's hoping the rest of the week goes much more smoothly than it started out!

FALL!

Labor Day has come and gone, and we all know what that means... FALL! I absolutely love Fall. The air starts to get a bit cool in the morning/evening. The leaves start to the change colors and twirl to the ground. And the decor! Oh Em GEE! I am so in love with Fall decorations it's a little bit crazy. (If you didn't already notice from the previous post about a Candy Corn Wreath.. in August.) We're on the verge of the holiday season and it's fabulous. I've been working feverishly to get ready for Fair on the Square AND get some stuff ready for Dev's shower that's in two weeks, but I'm also trying to enjoy this first little burst of cool weather we received and decorate for Fall.

Friday night was the first home football game for the high school, so Candy and I went to cheer on the Hornets and her daughter who's a cheerleader. It was a lot of fun, ahhhhh, Friday Night Lights! Saturday was the official start to the college football season, so I had to move all my crafting supplies to a room with a tv so I could watch/listen to the games while working. Sunday was the first full day of NFL action and it was fabulous, although, not without drama since they're using replacement refs! (If you can't tell, I LOVE me some football!!) The big game Sunday night (Broncos/Steelers) was a bit disappointing seeing as how my cable wasn't working correctly and I had no sound for the entire first half. Needless to say I'm calling to review other options today, I will not let Suddenlink ruin my entire football season... they also ruined opening night when I lost ESPN for an entire quarter!

Anyway, I'm going on and on here. What are your favorite Fall activities? I know a lot of people that have been basking in the glory of pumpkin spice beverages from Starbucks, I do not drink coffee, or I would be one of them! I will be enjoying some lovely pumpkin muffins from Einstein Bagels though :)

I can't believe Fair on the Square is just around the corner!! I have so much left to do before the big day. I'm going to be working like a mad woman until then. I still have several things to finish up before Dev's shower and then I'll be gone an entire weekend for that, so that basically leaves me with two full weekends to get everything done. I do work on things during the week, but the bulk of the work takes a good bit of a "all at one time" kind of stuff so it's much easier to do on the weekends. Hopefully I can get it all done!! Be sure to save the date and come check out our booth at Fair on the Square October 6th!! We'll be right around the Facemaker so just look for us :)

Hope everyone's week is starting out fabulously!

TGIF!

It's finally Friday! Is it just me or do the weeks seem to drag on lately? I feel like time has flown by, Fall is just around the corner but it feels like just yesterday it was May, but yet the weekends still take forever to get here it seems. Such is life I guess.

Hope you are all having a great week and plan to have an even better weekend! I might check out the Bearkat soccer game tonight and then work on some Ruffles and Lace projects tomorrow. Last night was Hornet Hysteria at the high school, Candy and I went with a couple other friends to watch Miss Caitlyn cheer. She did a fabulous job! It is still a bit strange going back to my old high school, even after working there for several years, and being in a brand new gym that wasn't around back when I was young. Oh well, guess I'm getting old!

Last weekend I worked on some Ruffles and Lace projects for Fair on the Square. Here's a little peek at one of the creations.

Dont forget to make plans to attend the Fair on the Square- Saturday, October 6th! There are a ton of booths with all kinds of vendors and goodies and of course awesome food vendors, and there's a beer garden too ;)

Enjoy your Friday and have a fantabulous weekend!

Random.

I know many of you read The Pioneer Woman's site, if you don't, you're missing out! I usually just read and laugh at her silliness while randomly entering giveaways (that I'm ones never going to win) but every once in a while one of the posts really stands out and I'm compelled to share it. Do yourself a favor and check out This Post about some super cute sandals. They're not only really cute, but also support a great cause, which makes them extra fabulous!

On a completely different note, who's been watching True Blood?! OMG. I'm really glad I didn't stop watching a few seasons back like I almost did... so. good. right. now. And sticking to the topic of television, my ultimate, all-time favorite show starts back up in less than a month- SOA! (Sons of Anarchy) You should definitely catch up on the previous seasons if you haven't already been watching, it's literally the best show I've ever seen.

Can you believe Summer is almost over? Well, I guess down here it technically never ends until the first freeze, and even then it's questionable. But, Fall is coming and I couldn't be more excitd. I love when it starts to get dark out earlier and the breeze is cool at night. I just love the build up to winter with all the Fall decor, colors, leaves everywhere, rainy days, and s'mores (you can't have cool weather without s'mores!).

I'm so ready for this weekend so I can get back to working Ruffles and Lace projects! Hope you have some exciting plans for the weekend :)

Hump Day!

Is it just me or is this week going by reaaaaallllly slooooowwwly? Today should definitely be Friday, or at the very least, Thursday! Alas, I'll have to settle for Wednesday. Which is ok, there are only two more days left until the weekend and working on new projects!

Last Sunday I had an appointment down in the Woodlands so I just HAD to stop at Joann Fabrics and start stocking up for fall. I know I've gone on several times about loving summer time, but fall really is awesome..I mean if I really had to pick a fav it just might be fall, although really why pick favorites when it's not necessary? Joann's was having a fantabulous sale AND I had a coupon so I did really well for the day. Here's a little sneak preview at some fabrics I purchased. Remind you of anything in particular?

I actually took off work last Friday to get some stuff done since I had such a busy weekend of errands, appointments, and tons of driving. After making some major progress on the list Friday morning my mama and I hit up some antique stores in some nearby towns that afternoon. It was a lot of fun, even though it was crazy hot. Can you believe some of these places don't haev AC's or fans?! We didn't end up getting much, but I found a few awesome sites for future purchases (sorry, can't reveal any of those details hehe!) One shop we went in had an entire wall filled with old stained glass windows. They were so pretty!
The picture obvs doesn't do the glass justice, you'll just have to trust me that they were beautiful :)

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week and planning great things for the weekend, I know I am!

We Survived.

Well, we did it. Christmas in July was a major success, and we survived the blistering heat!

I got everything all organized and ready Friday night, while watching the opening ceremonies of course, and then we loaded up the cars and headed out bright and early at 6:30AM Saturday morning. Our booth was on a nice little corner near the main road, so we had a good breeze for most of the day, which was probably was kept was from dying of heat stroke. The booth next to us was a whole little family working together, they were so cute! AND as it turns out, the daughters were in my sister-in-law's English class last year. Such a small world. We had a lot of fun meeting everyone and visiting with out neighbors. Ruffles and Lace did really well, especially considering the heat, and the fact that I don't think the event garnered as much traffic as they were hoping. There were still quite a bit of people, I just think more would have shown up if not for the sun melting our faces off. All in all, it was a fabulous day and a great experience for our first bigger show. We CAN'T WAIT to do another one! We're looking at doing Fair on the Square in October, I'll hopefully have more information about that next week.

Hope your weekend was as great as mine! (even though it's Monday, and I now need a weekend to recover from my weekend) ;)
