ideas.

Ok y'all, I've decided to make the birthday volunteering a tradition! If you haven't read my post about the 30 for 30 challenge, check it out here, it may inspire you to do something as well! I will have to keep adding on each year, obviously, since we grow older with each birthday UGH. So, this year I will be at 31. I know some of the deeds will be the same, but I would really like to find some new and creative ones to add. If you have any ideas, please let me know, I would love to hear them!

What already got me thinking about this is I saw a link for the Charity Water page via Twitter last week and they do a birthday campaign. PERFECT! If you haven't heard of Charity Water, you should definitely check them out. http://www.charitywater.org/ They raise funds for clean drinking water and allow anyone who wants to be a part of it to do so through their birthday. 100% of the funds raised through the birthday donations go to fund clean water projects. After the projects are complete, you can see the exact project you funded through photos and GPS. It's a pretty great organization and all you have to do is pledge your birthday and round up some donations.

This will fit in perfectly with my goal and is already #1 on my list. Hopefully I can impact a lot of people this way and inspire many more to get out and do some Random Acts of Kindness in their community - or just create a Charity Water page on their birthday and raise funds online! Man, I'm already super stoked about this and I still have another 10 months before I really need to get down to business. haha!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous week and looking forward to a wonderful Easter weekend ahead. And seriously y'all, send me any suggestions you have for my list!

Spring is in the air...

Well, sort of. I guess that title is a little misleading considering it was 32 degrees when I left for work this morning, just a tad chilly! But, it is officially spring and that means the flowers have started blooming and the beautiful days abound... and I get really bad at posting on here because let's be honest when the sun is shining and it's perfect outside, nobody wants to be sitting at a computer.

I have been able to run outside pretty much exclusively and it's been fabulous! Sometimes it's a little hard in the wind (March sure did come in like a lion!) but overall I have enjoy every minute of it. I get see the beautiful state flower of Texas everywhere along my route. Love It!

And here are a few other pics from random things lately.

I made this chalkboard for Miss Ellie's 2nd birthday party last weekend. I couldn't make the party, but I hear it was loads of fun!

Last weekend Bel and I went to ATX to see Gary Allan at the Rodeo. Love me some Gary!

Easter is this weekend, yay! Hope everyone is ready for the bunny :)

Hiatus

I know, it's been like fooooooeeeeeeeverrrr since I posted. (who doesn't love the Sandlot, seriously?!) But, I've recently decided to back off the photo challenge. Yeah, it's barely March and I'm already backing out, tisk tisk. Let me explain first! I do have several weekends of photos I haven't gotten around to posting yet, and I feel rushed every weekend to get everything that needs to be done completed along with the things I want to do plus the photos, it was just getting to be too much. So, I've decided to just relax and focus and taking pictures of life as it goes. I'll probably still take my camera with me on the weekends most places, but this way awesome pics will happen more naturally and I'll get to enjoy my time more freely. PLUS as the weather continues to be awesome I'll be working more and more on Ruffles and Lace projects. So, in case you were wondering where the weekly pics were, there's your answer.

In other news, I am LOVING this springtime weather we're having, although the 30 degree nights are tad bit chilly! I can't wait for happy hour Fridays to begin- patio weather is the best. Spring also gets me into a major country music kick (like I'm not already in one 90% of time) I think it's the possibility of live music on the patio and just having fun. I'm going to the rodeo tonight to see Dierks and can't wait. I saw him a while back in Atlanta and it was a great show!

Anyway, hope you're having a great week!
